Spray painting

The years go by and time brings on technological innovations and spray-painting is no exception, starting off with advances which came about at the end of the 90s, such as the introduction of spray paints with a low VOC, ie paints without (or almost without) volatile organic solvents.

To simplify things, these spray paints are called ‘water based’ paints, this technology uses water mostly, as a solvent thus drastically limiting the amount of volatile hydro-carbons which would certainly end up in the environment or

VOCs or solvents are widely used in industry and in particular in the spray paint industry.

At present two precise European directives are effective on the subject and each member state of the European union is obliged to take them into account in their own national legislation.

These directives are:

Directive on Solvent Emissions 1999/13/EC
Product Directives 2004/42/EC

Moreover there are several other directives which govern the use of these products, has required we are obliged to use water-based spray paints and in particular we use the DUPONT REFINISH system which guarantees an impeccable result with extremely low emissions.
